The team is located in modern facilities, which features 8 delivery rooms, a 3 bedded day assessment unit and a 28 bed antenatal/postnatal ward.
MidCentral are offering Registered Midwife positions at Kōhungahunga Maternity Unit which is a 4 bedded unit located at Horowhenua Health Centre in Levin, approximately 50 km south of Palmerston North. We are sole charge, midwifery led and dedicated to labour and postnatal stays.
There is also assorted midwifery positions based in Palmerston North. We welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced midwives to work in a variety of settings including delivery suite, maternity ward (ante and postnatal), outpatients day unit and community.
The Clinical Midwife Managers provides day to day midwifery leadership and management across our secondary Birthing Suite and combined antenatal and postnatal ward. We provide labour and birth cares to approximately 2000 women per year.
Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral has been at the forefront of leading innovation in maternity care in New Zealand. We have established the use of misoprostol for induction of labour, and the use of Robson 10 Groups for continuous audit of outcomes and quality improvements.
MidCentral Health offers a comprehensive New Graduate Midwifery programme and is currently welcoming applications to join the supportive midwifery team at Palmerston North hospital. Hours available are 0.8FTE working rostered duties.
We offer a twelve-week orientation programme and no nights are rostered in the first six months.
