The role will involve patient recruitment to Clinical Trials, staff and patient education, patient assessments, investigations, clinical nursing, administering investigational drugs (including chemotherapy) or treatment modalities, data collection and reporting as well and ongoing study coordination of the Clinical Trials. The successful applicant will work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team and external sponsors.

The Patient at Risk Specialty Clinical Nurse will work across the continuum of care, enhancing the point of care for the patient at risk in the ward setting, ensuring care is coordinated, comprehensive and informed by advanced specialist knowledge. The Patient at Risk Clinical Specialty Nurse has expert generic nursing knowledge across the age spectrum with a developed expertise in the assessment and recognition of the deteriorating patient. This nursing knowledge will enable the ongoing expert nursing assessment of patients, early detection of deterioration and evaluation of care, and the coordination of resources to enable early, appropriate, and safe intervention.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge and skill in the assessment and management mental health eating disorder presentations within a community setting.

The role will also include being involved in an inter-disciplinary team approach across mental health & addiction. We are looking for a part-time or full-time Sonographer to join our growing team. You will be based in Palmerston North, or Palmy as we call it. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality ultrasound scanning, in a supportive team environment.

Our ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of ultrasound, including general, obstetrics, vascular and MSK imaging. Experience or ability to learn Fetal Echocardiography and high-risk OB scanning would be an asset.

MidCentral are offering Registered Midwife positions at Kōhungahunga  Maternity Unit which is a 4 bedded unit located at Horowhenua Health Centre in Levin, approximately 50 km south of Palmerston North. We are sole charge, midwifery led and dedicated to labour and postnatal stays.

There is also assorted midwifery positions based in Palmerston North. We welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced midwives to work in a variety of settings including delivery suite, maternity ward (ante and postnatal), outpatients day unit and community.

The Clinical Midwife Managers provides day to day midwifery leadership and management across our secondary Birthing Suite and combined antenatal and postnatal ward.  We provide labour and birth cares to approximately 2000 women per year.

MHAS is responsible for the commissioning and delivery of primary, specialist, and community mental health & addiction services across a diverse urban and rural population of 186,000. We provide treatment for and connection to recovery-orientated services for individuals experiencing mental illness or addiction issues. Services are delivered across the continuum of lifespan, both regionally and locally, and include specialist community MH&A teams, kaupapa (Māori), Child Adolescent Mental Health Services, inpatient services, crisis response, acute alternatives, specialist primary mental health service, consultation-liaison MH, and specially designed residential programmes.

MidCentral Health offers a comprehensive New Graduate Midwifery programme and is currently welcoming applications to join the supportive midwifery team at Palmerston North hospital. Hours available are 0.8FTE working rostered duties.

We offer a twelve-week orientation programme and no nights are rostered in the first six months.

Women’s Health at MidCentral has gone through exciting changes in the last five years. The Department of General Medicine manages a complex array of patients from around the region, including those with rheumatologic, neurologic and various other conditions.

Patients are cared for by General Medicine teams as well as subspecialty services including Neurology/Stroke, Cardiology, Renal, Gastroenterology, Respiratory and Acute Geriatrics. Each team is staffed by a consultant, a medical registrar, and a house officer. Trainee interns and/or 5th-year medical students are often assigned to teams as well.
