In 2006, she joined our intensive care team at Palmerston North Hospital. She loves working in a hospital setting and encourages all aspiring healthcare professionals to go on and give it a go.

“I started working in ICU seventeen years ago as I wanted a change. It is extremely hard work at times but when I see the slightest hint of improvement or the beaming smile from a patient, I know that this is why I do what I do.”

Donna is passionate about her mahi in the healthcare and never doubted her choice to help patients and their whānau.

“The patients and their families are my inspiration. I enjoy seeing the recovery of my patients and don’t mind going the extra mile to ensure that!”

Outside of work, you can usually find Donna in her kitchen, baking up a storm and filling the freezer. She loves spending quality time with her two grandsons whenever she gets an opportunity and enjoys doing lots of crafty stuff – knitting and cross stitching while watching the TV at night.

Amazing mahi Donna - thanks for everything you do!
