Dr Kamal Subedi - Gastroenterologist
Dr Kamal Subedi is a Gastroenterologist at Palmerston North Hospital. His role specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the digestive system and liver. He provides care for all our patients with Gastrointestinal (GI) tract conditions.
“Gastroenterology is so much more than doing outpatient clinics and inpatient rounds. There are various endoscopic procedures and a wide array of gastrointestinal interventions we do that require experience and expertise to ensure that our patients get the best possible treatment.”
Helping people and making a positive impact on their lives has always been Dr Subedi’s passion. He is dedicated to caring for his patients and helping them on their journey to recovery.
“Gastrointestinal conditions like abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting, gastrointestinal bleeding and jaundice can disturb the normal routine for our patients. I and my wonderful team members carefully examine their symptoms and produce a treatment plan to make sure they recover soon and can get back to their routine.”
Dr Subedi is fascinated with the latest technological advancements in the field of medicine from his training days. He is always up to date with new interventions and procedures and implements them for the benefit of his patients. He advises aspiring doctors to do the same.

Outside of work, Dr Subedi is a doting husband and father. He loves going on a nice date with his wife and enjoys spending time with his whānau.
